
Passport Project Cultural Days
Coosa's School Improvement Council developed a multi-year Passport Project which is focused on teaching students about different cultures and countries around the world. The SIC selected twenty-one countries to be highlighted over a seven year timeframe.
All students will learn about three countries per school year.
If a student attends CES from Pre-kindergarten through 5th grade, they will learn about twenty-one countries in total. We will highlight landmarks, traditions, games, crafts, stories, and more. Students will also bring home recipes if you would like to extend the learning at home.Coosa began to implement the SIC Passport Project during the 2024-2025 school year during the three scheduled half days of the school calendar.

Yearly, students will receive a Coosa Passport so they remember and share their travels! We encourage our families to discuss their learning in the days that follow their experience. Students will travel to the following countries:
- Pre-kindergarten: Australia, Japan, Turkey
- Kindergarten: Mexico, China, Nigeria
- 1st Grade: France, Philippines, Columbia
- 2nd Grade: Thailand, Germany, Morocco
- 3rd Grade: India, Spain, Honduras
- 4th Grade: Greece, Kenya, Venezuela
- 5th Grade: Russia, Italy, Peru
