Military Families

Military Purple Star School

Coosa Elementary School is proud to be a Military Purple Star School, a program that supports military-connected children as they relocate to new schools due to a parent’s change in duty station. This program is also designed to help schools respond to the educational and social-emotional challenges military-connected children face during their transition to a new school. It is our goal to support our military families and military children by removing all barriers that will inhibit their success academically, socially, and emotionally and keep them on track to be college and workforce ready. The Department of Defense authorized the funding for several full-time Military Family Life Counselors (MFLCs) to serve the Beaufort County School District. We are lucky to have an on-site MFLC at Coosa!
