There are many educational professionals that help our school community be a place were students can learn and grow to the best of their ability. Please take a moment to learn more about our School Nurse, School Counselor, Social Worker, and Behavior Management Specialist.
Nurse Fickes is a Nationally Certified Nurse, who has been serving in the nursing field for over 20 years. Fun facts: you might hear people refer to her as "Nurse Fix-Us," and she loves Tervis tumblers! She was recently featured in Beaufort Lifestyle magazine.
Learn more about Mrs. Bossak, who is Coosa's Certified School Counselor. She provides a comprehensive developmental guidance and counseling program utilizing the South Carolina Comprehensive and Developmental Guidance and Counseling Program Model.The purpose of this program is to promote and enhance the learning process. The model facilitates student development in three broad areas: learning to live (personal and social development), learning to learn (academic development), and learning to work (career development). Each month, Mrs. Bossak spearheads our Character Education Traits/Student of the Month program. This program promotes positive character traits in our students and school community. To learn more click here.
Mr. Holmes is the School Social Worker at both Coosa Elementary School and Lady's Island Elementary School. Mr. Holmes is our link between school and community, providing services to students, families, and school personnel to promote and support students’ academic and social success. As the Behavior Management Specialist, Mrs. Millen assists students in making positive decisions as it pertains to their behaviors and actions. Mrs. Millen provides positive behavior support strategies, social skills, anger management skills, and conflict resolution strategies.
Mrs. Millen also supports our teachers. With her support, our teachers are able to maximize instructional time for academic learning by minimizing behavior disruptions.
