Multilingual Learner Program (MLP)

At Coosa Elementary, we value the linguistic and cultural assets our students bring with them to our school. Coosa Elementary is proud to welcome Multilingual Learners and their families to our school community. Our goal is to create a learning community where all students have an opportunity to learn, grow and become responsible citizens of the world. We welcome the language(s) our students speak and see them as a strength our Multilingual Learners bring to the educational setting.

Coosa’s Multilingual Learner Program builds the four modalities of the English language (speaking, listening, reading and writing) by utilizing the language of the content areas. With support, students grow in their academic English while keeping their home language(s).
