Melissa Pender, Principal

Our students set academic and personal goals, prioritize choices to reach their goals, and work to solve problems and reach solutions together.

We are immensely proud of the Leadership skills our students develop throughout their years at Coosa Elementary School.

Ms. Pender received a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina, a Master's Degree in Integrating Technology in Education from Lesley College, and a BA in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from the University of South Carolina, Aiken. An article about Mrs. Pender's impact on Beaufort's educational field was recently published in Pink Magazine!

Renee Roberts

Renee Roberts

Mrs. Roberts is a native Beaufortonian and loves everything about the Lowcountry! She and her husband and have two children: Zach and Gwendolyn. She has experience teaching in grades 3-5 and working with students and teachers as both a math and literacy coach.

Mrs. Roberts holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Capella University, a Master’s Degree in Curriculum & Instruction: Literacy from Lesley University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Winthrop University. She is also a National Board Certified Teacher as a Middle Childhood Generalist: 2008 & 2018.
